The board of intermediate and secondary education Multan is among the largest educational boards located in Punjab province of Pakistan. The ministry of the Education government of Punjab is the organizing body of this board giving it the basic most responsibilities to conduct the annual SSC and HSSC examination in the jurisdiction. The board has a mission of providing the students with the best facilities in the education department. It wants to bring a fair and transparent education system which polishes the skills of the students and tell them where they should pursue their future.
The Multan board was established on March 30 1968 after the ordinance of Government of West Pakistan. The ordinance was passed by the assembly of Pakistan on May 24 and the board started its camp office in Lahore and the in June the board was shifted in the Multan. At the time of formation, the jurisdiction had Quetta, Kallat, Bahawalpur and Multan region but then other districts were made independent. The current areas covered by the BISE Multan includes Mutlan district, Khanewal District, Vehari District, Lodhran District, Pakpattan District and Sahiwal District.
The board affiliates the colleges and schools in the jurisdiction and all those schools and colleges who want their students to appear in the examinations as a regular students need to get affiliated with the board which can be easily done by paying a fee to the board. Board also accommodates the private candidates who want to appear in the examinations privately.
