Technical Varsity calls for admissioTechnical institutions are the only way forward to produce the youth with skills which can be widely used in the industrial world. Study any nation of the modern world, their vocational and training institutions would be the finest among all which develop the basic manpower with skills which then become the industrial workforce and the wheel of progress for that nation continue to spin.
Pakistan is the one of the most populated countries of the world and the ratio of the youth in the country is largest than ever but there is a dire need to bringing a change in the youth and impart the skills which are required in the industries only then we can able to stop the frustration among youth and avoid them getting into bad ways of being drug addicted or having a suicide potential.
Keeping this worst scenario in mind, Pakistan Minister of Industries have surely shown interest in development of such institutes who focus on the vocational and technical trainings so that the students can be placed in industries and can get a reputable life in the future.
For this purpose, a six member team of Tianjin University of Technical Education in China visited the Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority commonly known as TEVTA to have a mutual agreement on establishing a University of Technical and Vocational Education. The delegate came to Lahore on Monday and met with the officials to finalize the agreement so that the project could be materialized.
Sheikh Allaudin who is the Minister of Industries, Commerce and Investment in the Punjab, Irfan Qaiser Sheikh who is chairman of TEVTA and Vice President of Tianjin University of Technical Education Yan Bing were present at the occasion.
After the meeting, the chairman of Tevta, Irfan Sheikh said that the project is likely to be completed in a year and wil be fully operational. He also mentioned that the chief minister of Punjab Mr Shahbaz Sharif has clearly asked the university to be operational as soon as possible and that the admission must be taken n the month of October. He also mentioned that we are on our time and the admission will be started on time.
Irfan while describing the nature of the project mentioned that the university will be offering certain degrees like BSC Electrical Engineering, Autombile, Civil engineering, Information Technology, Textile designing and Architecture. He mentioned that we are aiming to have an intake of 2200 students in 6 to 9 degrees in the above mentioned fields. He also mentioned that the land for the university will be selected among TEVTA colleges which are located at Township and at Raiwind road. He mentioned that any of these colleges after selection will be given a rank of university and further degrees will be offered from October.
He also mentioned that the faculty will be acquired for the university as per HEC guidelines and all the engineering disciplines will be registered with the Pakistan Engineering Council. He also mentioned that labs up gradation is also in progress and syllabuses are being finalized.
