Students Awarded Degrees in LCWU Convocation
The total number of students who were awarded the degrees in
the 11th convocation of thee Lahore College for Women University is
2373 and they are from BS, MS/Mphil, Pharm-D and phD of the batches 2012 and
2013.

The ceremony was attended by the Chief Minister of the
Punjab Mian SHahbaz Sharif along with the chancellor of the university and the
governor of the Punjab, Chaudhary Muhammad Sarwar. Dr Sabiha Mansoor who is the
Vice Chancellor of LWCU and Educaiton minister of Punjab Rana Mashhood Ahmed
along with the lawmakers and faculty were also present on the occasion.
Shahbaz said that the government is ready to give the
university more and more funds so that they can mark their ranking in the top
universities of the world. He said that he wished to see LCWU among the ranking
list which is released by the Center of World Class University annually.
He added that the students are the assets of the nation as
they are going to receive it from us and they have to take the name and
reputation of the country ahead. They must see dreams and in Pakistan there is
a great potential to fulfill and pursue them. He added that women of the nation
are very much talented and there is no doubt about it that they have managed to
mark their work in the fields of education, medicine, engineering, IT and all
other disciplines.
He also made the appeal to the women not to sit idle after
they get married or get their degree. He emphasized on the fact that their work
in their respective fields is what they got degrees for. He continued that it
is only possible for the nation to stand on its own if the daughters of the
nation come forward and work with men in every field.
