Education System Incapable of Meeting Modern Challenges


Pakistan is an important country and present government under the leadership of prime minister Mian Nawaz Sharif has chalked out the educational vision 2025, so as to bring all parts and areas of the country on unified level of literary, education technology and social uplift. This was stated by Federal minister for planning, development and reforms Ahsan Iqbal while addressing the faculty member of Sindh Madrassatul Islam on Wednesday ,December 3,2014.

He said that present government has given the slogan of passionate Pakistan, which will create education of job oriented with positive thinking and social responsibility. He added that there is a need of joint identity to our country.

On December 3,2014 ,while addressing the gathering during the visit to the Sindh Madrassatul Islam (SMIU) ,Federal minister for planning, development and reforms Ahsan Iqbal said that the present educational system does not meet the challenges of modern era.

He further added that the National Curriculum Council has been constituted to review the educational syllabus and to develop it to the international standard. He also said that many efforts are also being made for standardization of examination systems in all educational boards on Pakistan.

Federal minister Ahsan Iqbal said that mobility is the spirit of education and one of the objectives of education is to provide flexibility to students, so that no question be raised on the worth of their degrees. He also said that improvement in the schools education is crucial to the development of the education. He also asked for developing a positive thinking in the youths. He said that “we will have to bring stability in Pakistan to attract foreign investors”.

He called upon the press conference to present the positive and healthy image of Pakistan to the world. He said that many citizens have shown their extra ordinary skills in different fields and he said it is our duty to show their qualities before the world.

Federal minister for planning, development and reforms  Ahsan Iqbal said that there is a need that all political leaders should play their role for development and prosperity of Pakistan. He said we should develop a sense of common purpose because collective skills are needed for betterment of Pakistan.

He pointed out that the highest every budgetary allocation has been made this year for High Education Commission (HEC). He said that every youth will be provided university education at his doorstep by 2018. He also called for the need to use new technologies and re-engineer processes to get smarter results. Earlier, Sindh Madrassatul Islam (SMIU)  Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Muhammad Ali Shaikh welcomed the minister and expressed gratitude for visiting Sindh Madrassatul Islam ( SMIU ).

Federal minister for planning, development and reforms  Ahsan iqbal said that the Sindh Madrassatul Islam (SMIU ) was founded in 1885 and being the oldest Muslim educational institute, it has always maintained high standard of education. He said the Sindh Government has approved 100 acres of land for its new campus. He also presented books to the Federal Planning and Development Minister.
